Detailed description is The Burlingame Vet Clinic opened in the fall of 2001 in SW Portland. Dr. Brett Ziegenbalg became the new practice owner February 2, 2015. Dr. Ziegenbalg received his degree in Environmental Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder and D.V.M. from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. He began practicing small animal medicine in Arkansas in 2001 and worked as an associate for 6 years practicing small animal medicine and surgery and emergency medicine at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Little Rock. Dr. Z and his wife built and ran a successful small animal practice for the last 8 years. He has specific interest in preventative medicine, endoscopy, ultrasound and minimally invasive surgery. He loves working with and cares deeply for his patients and they become part of his extended family. . Outside the practice, Dr. Z loves spending time with his wife Brandy and daughter Elise traveling, snow skiing and hiking as well as continuing education in veterinary medicine. Elise is four years old and this will be her third season skiing. He is very excited to live in the Pacific Northwest and looks forward to exploring and skiing the beautiful state of Oregon.. . . Dr. Hunt received his D.V.M. from the Ohio State University. He’s been practicing small animal medicine in Portland since 1996. “GH” has particular interests in geriatrics, cardiology, and feline medicine. His approach emphasizes individualized preventative medicine, client education, and gentle handling of nervous little pets. When animals come in sick or uncomfortable, he strives to determine the cause so he can give clients treatment options that are both affordable and likely to be successful.. Away from the clinic, GH is an avid hiker and fisherman. He and his daughter have hiked most of the mountains in the Columbia Gorge and hope to eventually climb all of them. GH volunteers regularly, teaching extra math at Rieke Elementary. He plays guitar and mandolin (sometimes well) and loves to cover Johnny Cash. GH lives in SW Portland with his wife, daughter, and a menagerie of pets. .
