The Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education provides a tax deductible way for individuals, businesses, industry and civic organizations to invest in public education. Each year the Foundation awards $20,000 in grants to teachers to fund innovative academic experiences which benefit all students in Bulloch.. . Since its creation in 2006, the Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education has funded nearly 200 innovative projects for Bulloch County Schools' teachers with grants totaling more than $150,000.. . Recent grants have provided academic competitions for students to showcase and apply their skills and supplemental technology for improved interactive learning. The Foundation has funded aquaponics food towers that allow students to grow produce for school cafeterias and outdoor classrooms for environmental science research, like The Duck Pond at Statesboro High School. We also recognize excellence of educators by annually presenting the Bulloch County Teacher of the Year with $1,000.. . The Foundation sponsors Bulloch County Schools' participation in Georgia's REACH Scholarship program, which is designed to ensure that the state's academically promising eighth-grade students have the academic, social and financial support needed to graduate from high school and complete college.
