Detailed description is In 2000, the church was officially registered as a NPO with the State of MA.
The Bulgarian Saint Petka Tarnovska was chosen as a patron saint.
In the spring of 2000, a group of Bulgarians gathered with a common vision and desire to have their own Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Boston.
The idea is admirable and hard work began.
A temporary Board was established who took initiatives for the organization.
We are currently raising funds for purchasing a building for our church which will accommodate The Bulgarian Center of New England and the Bulgarian School.
Jointly with the Bulgarian Center of New England the Bulgarian Church "St.
Petka" have been collecting funds throughout the years but are still not sufficient for purchasing a building and over the years the church have been renting buildings in order to practice our religion..

In 2006, our church began regular service together with the Serbian Orthodox Church "St.
Sava” in their newly purchased building in Cambridge, MA.
The decision was approved by both - the Bulgarian and Serbian Patriarchate.
The Serbian community warmly welcomed the Bulgarian one and said: "This church is all yours, you may use it, and it is a place for all.
Our dream is to see it full (of people) one day".
Indeed, thanks to the joint work of the two leaderships, dream came true.
On Easter the following year (2007) the church was full of people, nearly 800 parishioners attended the Divine Liturgy, of which nearly half of them were Bulgarians! The services are conducted in Church Slavonic.
