My name is Kimberly Taylor and This Is My Story..
I have battled anxiety and depression my whole life.
I always thought I loved harder and hurt deeper than normal people..
July 7, 2007, when I was 36 years old, I had had enough.
Emotionally, I did not feel I could fall in a lower and I could not see any reason to keep going through the motions of life.
I felt unworthy to breathe the air or to even take up space that someone else could use.
I was not mad at anyone; I just felt everyone and everything would be much better off without me..
I overdosed.
My mother found me.
I spent several days in ICU.
When I woke up, my first thought was, “I couldn’t even do that right.”.
Afterwards, I was embarrassed and ashamed for so many years.
I have since been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have gotten medical attention I need for that as well as a smorgasbord of other medical conditions.
Mental illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc.
is nothing to be ashamed of.
It is the same as any other treatable illness.
