He is recently joined Monash University as Adjunct Professor. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago and at the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the International Olympic Museum at Lausanne, Switzerland. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Olympics: The India Story (with Nalin Mehta) and the best seller Sellotape Legacy: Delhi and the Commonwealth Games. A revised and updated edition of Olympics: The India story has just been published by Harper Collins, India. . . His cricket books include the much acclaimed Twenty-Two Yards to Freedom: A social history of Indian cricket, The Illustrated History of Indian Cricket, Corridors of Uncertainty and Once Upon a Furore: Lost Histories of Indian Cricket.
