Washington High School Friends and Alumni Foundation, Inc. was founded in December 2006 and is recognized as a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. . . Each year, Booker T. Washington High School must manage funds in its yearly budget to finance thirty-six departmental programs, activities and capital projects. The ongoing efforts of the Booker T. Foundation is to make substantial contributions to help enhance the budget of BTWHS. We are profoundly grateful to those corporations, businesses, foundations and friends that have provided financial support through pledges and other forms of planned giving.. . From 2007 to 2011, this foundation has helped with the following:. . -SAT Testing Fees. -The Academy of the Arts Program. -Shoot for the Stars Stay-In-School Program. -Various field trips. . In the area of sports: . -Purchased track team uniforms for the girls.. -Purchased uniforms for the JV girls basketball team. -Helped track teams to get to Penn Relays. -Baseball donations from the Sam Allen Donor Foundation and helped to purchase baseball uniforms, spats and caps in 2011. -NCAA eligibility workshops for guidance counselors, coaches, students and parents. -Purchased football practice equipment. .
