We have breeding stock, meat, fiber and art items (skulls, hides, etc) Contact us for info! My wife and I moved to outskirts of the Bijou Basin in Elbert County, Colorado 3 years ago in hopes of fulfilling our dream of owning and operating a ranch.
Bleeding Heart Ranch was created shortly after.
We started with just our 2 horses and 4 dogs but knew we wanted to get into the family business of raising livestock.
Both sides of the family operate cattle ranches in New Mexico and in Nebraska.
After a few years of research we decide to raise Yak for breeding stock, meat, and fiber.
Why Yak? Well turns out they are a more cost effective and manageable source of livestock.
Not to mention a healthier alternative to beef.
It made sense to us as we are just starting out on our own and also living in a more health conscious state such as Colorado.
In the future we hope to have a strong enough herd to start selling our meat products commercially in local stores, markets, and restaurants.
We hope to add beef cattle in the near future as well.
