In memory of Billy Bauernschmidt!. On November 21, 2006, Billy Bauernschmidt's life was taken in a car accident at the age of 17. During his short life, Billy touched many lives in many different ways. After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Billy traveled there to help the residents affected rebuild their lives. Next, he wanted to reach out to children who were less fortunate then he was, so he traveled to Juarez, Mexico. During his stay there, he helped refurbish an orphanage so the children would have better living conditions. Later that year, he was invited to attend an Outward Bound leadership challenge. Sadly, this was the last trip Billy was able to make.. . . . .
