° Up to six trainer rides/lessons per week, depending on horse’s needs and weather.”.
° Chalk Talk” – review of lesson or show videos.
° General horse care, including:.
° Turnout as needed by horse.
° Feeding of Supplements and Grain (we do the feeding, you do the purchasing!).
° Feeding or applying medication as needed (owner to provide meds).
° Scheduling and overseeing farrier.
° Meeting and assisting veterinarian in emergency, or as requested by owner..
° Scheduling Equine Chiropractor and Dentist.

These are some of the things that are NOT included:.

° Board and Feed.
° Blanketing & Unblanketing.
° Farrier.

° Grain, Supplements or Medication.
° Grooming and Tacking Up for your rides (you need to bond with your horse!).

Cutting Training.
.
We have both live cattle (usually about 95% of the time – cattle availability in Southern California can be a little unpredictable!) and a mechanical cow.
Cutting Training includes a combination of lessons and trainer rides on both the live cows and the mechanical cow according to the best interests of the horse, rider and cows.
In the summer, cows won’t play in the heat of the day, so live cow cutting lessons are limited to mornings and early evenings..

Problem Solving Training.

Its never just the horse’s problem! If you’re having a problem with your horse you can expect to be an active participant in the improvement process.
Problem Solving training includes an individualized program of ground work, trainer rides, and lessons in order to address both horse and rider issues and increase the rider’s confidence.

Colt (or filly!) starting can take anywhere from a 30 days to 2 years depending on your goals for your horse, your experience level, and your horse’s physical and emotional maturity and temperment.
Billy will be happy to discuss your horse and your situation with you and give you an idea of about how long it usually takes to get a colt to where you want to be.
In order for the training to be successful, its important that the owner (or intended rider) work together with Billy and the horse for at least two weeks before the horse goes home.
