• Berkshire Baseball Club entered into a long term lease which went into effect on January 1, 2013, with the County of Berks in regards to maintaining and managing the facilities at the Berks County Youth Recreation Facility (YRF) which is a 22 acre youth sports complex consisting of four baseball and four multi-purpose fields which can be used for soccer, lacrosse and other sports located along County Welfare Road in Leesport, PA..
• Berkshire Baseball will utilize its resources in order to make improvements and renovations to the facility and increase the overall usage of the facility..
• The agreement provides that the facility will be able to be utilized by all Berks County taxpayers and the improvements made at the facility should make it more marketable overall..
• This agreement has provided a solution for the County of Berks to save the taxpayers of Berks County over $80,000 annually in maintenance and labor costs to currently maintain the facility as well as saving the taxpayers of Berks County an additional $20,000 annually in utilities cost at the facility..
