As a child I played baseball in ward 3, and look forward to when my son does the same.
As a teenager I attended and graduated from New Bedford High School.
As a single mother, currently, I understand the worry of our public schools, where all we hear about is bullying, failing scores, and teachers who don’t feel sufficiently heard..

I understand the implications of badly allocating budgets, especially where our schools are concerned, this directly affects all of our childrens' lives.
Thankfully as a single mother of two children, I have extensive experience getting as much as possible out of a limited budget..

I understand the feeling of being left out of local politics, as so many of those involved are entrenched, and with people in long political careers, bringing friends with them means owing favors as they rise in power.

I am running because it is time residents take their city back - to let them know that regardless of political, social, or economic standing, their voices, their wants and their needs matter.
