Battle Lake Area Rescue is made up of both Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), depending on the member's level of training. They are your friends and neighbors who have been professionally trained to help in a medical emergency. They volunteer their time at a moment’s notice, day or night, with no expectation of compensation. Battle Lake Rescue members have regular practice and refresher training to maintain their skills.. . When you dial 911 for a medical emergency, responders are notified immediately via pagers. Some will respond in our rescue rig and some will respond in their personal vehicles. Responders will provide basic life support and patient stabilization in the critical early minutes of a medical emergency while waiting for the responding ambulance to arrive to transport the patient. . .
