Detailed description is B and B Dayhome The B and B Dayhome is ran by Myself, Becky King, and my mom, Bev Falkenberg, which the kids call her "nana" and My Dad, Don Falkenberg, Helps us out a lot where we need him to. The kids all call him "PopPop". Nana Has her CPR "C".. . My Parents have an acre and a half of land and a fenced in area for our playground. there is a fort, that was hand built by my dad, that has two towers. Each Tower has a Slide, and a sandbox underneath it. We have a little cottage that was also hand built by my dad. We have a little slide, and a little Rocking horse for the little ones. We have a third Tower that has a disk swing and a climbing rope as well as on tome a telescope and a ships wheel. I also have a very friendly Golden Retriever at the day home. He loves Kids. His name is Mackie.. . Inside we have Two Playrooms upstairs. One is called "the big Play Room" and the other is "the Small Play Room" with lots of toys and books for all the kids to enjoy a long with puzzles and kid Furniture like kitchen sets and Cottages and our walls in our play rooms are "special Magic wall" because they are chalk board walls and the kids can draw on the walls :). . We have a basement playroom as well. and since there is two of us. there is one of us up stairs and one of us downstairs with the kids at all times. . . Since we have two people currently running the dayhome we can also sometimes arrange for me to take the school kids to and from school and my mom stays home with the non school kids. . . As for our daily Routine, it is not always the exact same way all the time depending on weather and when people get here but we try our best to keep some what of a schedule going.. . In the morning we generally, Feed the kids breakfast. and then we have Free play, where to kids can Color, or Draw on the chalk boards. Some like to do puzzles while others like to look at books and some just plain Play ;) and for the ones that need to go to school I will take to school. when I come back we try to have Craft Time. and after Craft time they have a snack and then we head on outside for some outside play time. Everyday we go outside some days long than others depending on how cold it is outside but we get out even for a little bit everyday except in extreme cold. The kids play in the fenced playground. if I have little children that don't want to go outside then Nana will go outside with the bigger kids and I will stay in with the little ones. if the weather is not good outside then we play inside and have some kids downstairs and some of the kids upstairs playing. after play time it is lunch time. if I have playschool kids I will go pick them up and bring them to the dayhome while nana stays with the other kids and starts Lunch. After everyone is done eating, then it is quiet time/Nap time. for the kids that Nap, I lay them down, and the ones that don't nap have a movie upstiars . and I take this time to write in a journal that I have done up for each of the families. After about an hour of quiet time. The non napping kids are out of Quiet time we read Stories and Snack time then if the nappers are still napping the others will either do something quiet like play with Play-dough, or color, sometimes they play downstairs or if weather is good we go back outside. Nana would go outside with the none nappers and I tidy up and stay in with the nappers. . . In the journals I try to write in them for each of the families and those who have more than one in the dayhome I will update on each child in the same book. I will write what they did, what they ate. any thing amusing or interesting that they might say. I will also write any questions I might have and I encourage that the parents do the same in the book. If the Parents have any Questions or Comments or just want to put a check mark so I know that it was read, they can write it back in that journal as well. . . Every month we try to send home some pictures in a mini album as well of each kid while they are playing, or crafting or just giving a nice smile :) . . As far as Payment goes I send an invoice home every month on the last day of the month that they are at the day home and I take Cheques or cash. We are Open Monday - Friday and we usually Open at 7:30 and are open until depending on when everyone needs to be picked up but not usually open Past 5:30.. . .
