Detailed description is . Azdavay, Kastamonu ili'ne bağlı bir ilçedir.Turizmİlçe'nin, Küre Dağları Milli Parkı içerisinde olması sebebiyle eşsiz doğa güzelliklerine sahiptir. Bunun yanında ağaç, ahşap kütüklerden yapılmış evlerin oluşturduğu otantik köylerin yanı sıra görülmeye değer başlıca noktaları arasında; Çatak Kanyonu, Horma Kanyonu, Çal Kanyonu, Medil Mağarası, Asar Kayası, Anıt Ağaç, Akçasu Mesiresi, Suğla Yaylası, Azdavay Saray Şelalesi, Mercimeklik Kayası, Kız Kayası, Tabaklı Kayası, Aşar Kalesi ve ilçe merkezinde ki Aşıklar Köprüsü bulunmaktadır. Son zamanlarda Ekoturizm'e önem verilmekle birlikte ilçeye bağlı Zümrüt Köyü'nde çalışmalar yapılmıştır. İlçe, Yürüyüş (Trekking) yapmaya uygun bir coğrafyaya sahiptir. Bununla ilgili Azdavay Cazibe Çalışma Grubu ve Azdavay Kaymakamlığı işbirliği ile ilçedeki yürüyüş parkurlarını gösteren "Azdavay Yürüyüş (Trekking) Parkurları Kitabı" (2011) yayınlanmıştır.Nüfusİlçe merkezi ve köylerinin genel toplam nüfusu enson 2007 yılı genel nüfus sayımında 7.878 olarak tespit edilmiştir. İlçe halkının büyük bir bölümü ekonomik sebepler ve iş imkanlarının olmayışından genellikle; İstanbul, Ankara ve İzmir illerine göç etmişlerdir ve bir çoguda yurtdışında bulunmaktadır..Sporİlçe de, futbol ligine ara ara katılan, Kastamonu Amatör Liginde Azdavay Doğuşspor mücadele etmektedir.Kültürel ve Sosyal yaşamAzdavay bir sanayi merkezi olmadığı için göçün en çok yaşandıgı yerdir. İlçe de sosyal hareketlilik söz konusu değildir. Özel sektör olarak maden işletmeciligi, konfeksiyon atölyesi, orman işçiligi, hayvancılık ve küçük çaplarda tarim yapılmaktadır. Son yıllarda seracılık yaygınlaşmaya başlamış isede fazla gelişmemiştir. Bu sebeple genellikle İstanbul başta olmak üzere çeşitli büyük şehirlere göç mevcuttur. Hatta bazı köyler ve mahalleler tamamen boşaltılmış durumdadir. Ögrenci yoklugundan köy okulları kapatılmıştır. Azdavay´da gerek ekonomik gerek kültürel ve gerekse sosyal gelişme yavaş bir seyir takip etmektedir. Bu bakımdan bir takım gelenek ve görenekler bu günün şartlarına uygun olmasada birdenbire ortadan kalkmamıştır. Günün şartları icabı bazılarının yavaş yavaş unutuldugu bazılarınında yeni biçimler aldıgı görülmektedir. Eskiden Azdavay´ın her mahallesinde bir köy odası bulunurdu. Bunlar düğün ve bayramlarda misafir ağırlamakta kullanılırdı. Çoğu zaman burada toplanan köylü çesitli eglence ve oyunlar düzenlerdi. Köyün çocuklarina burada kuran kursları açılırdı. Günümüzde yok olan bu köy odalarını canlandırmak amacıyla bazi köylerdeki halk yeniden köy odası inşa etme girişiminde bulunmaktadir.
