In 1919, people of Sankhali started an educational institute called Atmo'dhar Sangh with wide perspective and dream of educating the community which had very limited resources. The institution had the library as their first project. 'Utkarsha Vidyalaya' a Marathi Primary School was its next step. After Goa's liberation , the Sangh started an English Medium High School "PROGRESS HIGH SCHOOL".. .
