Die Geschichte vom Hotel:.
Die heutige Partenkirchen, wurde von Römern 15 vor Christus als „Partanum“ an der Handelsstrasse „Via Raetia“ von Venedig nach Augsburg errichtet.
Bis zum Einzug der Eisenbahn brachte die Handelsroute grossen Wohlstand in die Region.
Entlang der heutigen Ludwigstrasse standen die Kaufmannshäuser, Handwerkshäuser, Gasthöfe und auch das 1542 errichtete, heutige Atlas Grand Hotel.
Die Fürsten von Thun und Taxis errichten 1763 die Poststation in diesem Gebäude.
Diese wurde dann Königlich-Bayerische Posthalterei.
