Nel maggio 2010 abbiamo costituito un’associazione per il recupero e la valorizzazione del centro antico di Fasano, cioè di quella parte del tessuto urbano chiamata in dialetto fasanese “U’mbracchie“, probabilmente originario dal termine latino “umbraculum” che significa “ombra”.
La stessa ombra presente nelle ore di sole tra le stradine, gli archi e le case in calce bianca del nostro centro storico..

La nostra è un’associazione culturale e di volontariato, apartitica, aperta a tutti coloro che vogliono lavorare per vincere questa sfida.
Solo coloro che credono in questo progetto, e lavoreranno gratuitamente per la sua realizzazione in maniera limpida, da qualsiasi parte anche politica provengano, potranno aderirvi..

A poco più di un anno dalla fondazione del nostro sodalizio, tante sono state le manifestazioni organizzate e che vorremmo mantenere in vita: il concorso dei balconi fioriti, le Quarantane nel centro storico, il presepe vivente e la festa enogastronomica “Friscianne j Mangianne”.

Ma l’iniziativa più carica di simboli e di concrete ricadute è per ora sicuramente il “Museo della Casa alla fasanese”.
Con le nostre sole forze, anche economiche, grazie all’intuizione dei soci Margherita Latorre e Gianni Lacialamella e alla disponibilità del sindaco Lello Di Bari, lo abbiamo realizzato e reso fruibile a cittadini e turisti.
Gli apprezzamenti di chi lo ha visitato ci gratificano e ci caricano di entusiasmo per ciò che ancora occorre realizzare tra tante radicate difficoltà..
