Detailed description is A Associação de Artesãos de Novo Airão (AANA), formada por integrantes de diferentes etnias indígenas, tem como objetivo divulgar o trabalho manual. A associação surgiu em 1996, com o intuito de gerar renda para os moradores locais a partir do trabalho manual. Usamos como matéria prima o arumã, talo de abacaba e cipó ambé. Temos parceria com a Fundação Vitória Amazônia e ICMBio. Temos hoje 23 artesãos trabalhando, tirando renda da confecção do artesanato. São trabalhos que enriquecem a matéria prima, que valorizam o produto do artesão e que a gente tem grande orgulho de estar desenvolvendo. . . Além de gerar renda aos moradores daqui de Novo Airão, também geramos renda para comunidades ribeirinhas que são os nossos coletores. Temos também artesãos em São Gabriel da Cachoeira. . . Tentamos abranger grande diversidade de produtos para quando o cliente, turista brasileiro ou estrangeiro, chegar ele possa encontrar artesanatos com fibras de um acabamento perfeito, que o agrade e possa ser visto como uma lembrança daqui de Novo Airão.
