Waterloo, Iowa – Ascension Lutheran Church is embarking on a “2017 YEAR OF THE BIBLE” public proclamation program. The program emphasizes a return of our nation to its as-founded acknowledgement of and reliance on the Bible at a time when the culture and government are rejecting it. . In Phase I of the program, the congregation’s “2017 YEAR OF THE BIBLE” information was provided to Federal and State Congresses, Supreme Court Justices and other Government agencies. . In Phase II the program will shift targets and will challenge other churches to enter the public arena with a “2017 YEAR OF THE BIBLE” proclamation through all media available. (Sample attached). The Ascension Congregation was formed in 1987 based on the unchanging and life-giving dependable power revealed in the inerrant, infallible Word of God, the Bible. Based on I Pet. 1:3-7 the congregation lifts up God’s Word as the only sure basis for hope at just such a troubled time as we live in today. . The Congregation holds to the conservative middle ground spectrum of Lutheranism. (AALC) and equates its stand as being especially apropos in this the 500th anniversary year of the Reformation.
