ARTi’s team devises and implements thermochemical engineering solutions that focus on energy efficiency and utilization of waste materials to address the growing global consumption of dwindling natural resources.. . One of the company’s first products is activated biochar (ARTichar), a black charcoal-like substance that is produced through a thermochemical process called pyrolysis. Made chiefly from agricultural residue feedstocks, ARTichar has the potential to remove odors, impurities, heavy metals and contaminants from waste streams, water sources, and gases. ARTichar can be formulated for various specific uses while being more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable than conventional activated carbon, which is generally derived from coal.
