Detailed description is To promote awareness of the Armenian Genocide, called the "Forgotten Genocide, in the classroom, and the consequences of its continued denial by Turkey In 2008, five community activists came together and formed a committee called the Armenian Genocide Education Committee of Merrimack Valley to promote the teaching about the Armenian Genocide and our culture.
This community based organization which is sponsored by all the Armenian organizations in the Merrimack Valley, was led by Dro Kanayan, Tom Vartabedian and Albert Movsesian.
Over the years this program has evolved to teaching not just about Armenianism but educating the students about the Armenian Genocide and its impact on other Human Rights violations.

The organization formed a partnership with Facing History and Ourselves, who had worked with the Armenian Community to develop a textbook on teaching about this subject, Over the next 7 years, we have spoken at 15 public middle and high schools and 3 colleges and universities reaching over 10,000 students during this time.
Teachers and students have taken active stances on Armenian issues during this time.
For example students have designed and written the postmaster general about a commemorative stamp honoring the 100th anniversary of the genocide, formed human rights clubs, and wrote sheet music in memory of those who perished..
