Detailed description is The Anointed Voices of Praise Choir was originally a workshop choir formed in 2008 under the leadership of former paster, Rev.
Kelly Spann, II.
After the workshop training was over, many of the choir members still continued to receive invitations for the choir to sing at other events.
Since the choir enjoyed the fellowship with other choir members and spreading the good news through song to people in the community; the choir voted to ask Rev.
Spann to allow the choir to remain as a choir after the workshop was completed.
In May of 2009 the request was approved by the board and the name of the choir was changed from The Workshop Choir to The Rev.
Kelly Spann Anointed Voices of Praise choir.
In November, 2009 a motion was made by the choir after the AME post conference to change the name of the choir to the Anointed Voices of Praise choir, as Rev.
Spann was appointed to another district and Greater Mt.
Zion received a new pastor, Rev.
John Mack.
Upon approval from the board the name of the choir was changed to the Anointed Voices of Praise choir..
At present, the choir has 32 active members, ranging in ages from 12 to 90
