Detailed description is I'm a very Italian ex-New Yorker making the Italian Ice I grew up with and have missed since moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Missing the Italian Ice I grew up with in NY, I thought it would be fun to try to re-create it for my kids.
Being an Italian Ice purist, it took many attempts to get the flavor and texture *just* right.
Once I was successful, I got this crazy idea to start making more flavors, with my kids as very enthusiastic taste-testers.
Before I knew it, friends and family started tasting it too and couldn't get enough of it! As my stock of ingredients started dwindling, I realized maybe I have a little seasonal business on my hands, which would at least help me to purchase more supplies.
