At Animas High School in Durango, Colorado, all students complete a project-based internship in the spring of their junior year.
The Leading Internships for New Knowledge (LINK) program is an important piece of the AHS curriculum, as it exemplifies the key design principles of the school: personalization, adult-world connection and common intellectual mission..

Students are paired with professional mentors who provide experience in their fields.
In turn, interns complete academically rigorous projects at their internship sites and make significant contributions to their community.
The project is completed during a three-week period in March, when students are at their internship sites 30-40 hours over the work week.
