von Kastillien und León gegründet und von 1133 bis 1141 in der Nähe von Segovia errichtet.
Zunächst war die Abtei Maria Königin (Santa María la Real) gewidmet, später wurde sie nach dem Zisterziensermönch Bernhard von Clairvaux benannt.
