Yüksek lisans döneminde ayrıca New York eski Belediye Başkanı David Dinkins’in verdiği Çağdaş Belediyecilik ve Kent Yönetimi dersini aldı ve “Kent Kalkınmasında Çağdaş Belediyeciliğin Rolü” konusunda ders tezi verdi.. . 1996’da Sosyalist Enternasyonel’in 20. Kongresi’ne Erdal İnönü ve Deniz Baykal ile birlikte CHP delegesi olarak katıldı ve Kongre’nin en genç delegesi olarak çalışma komisyonlarında aktif olarak yer aldı.. . Yüksek lisansın ardından Kanal D Haber Merkezi’nde diplomasi ve siyaset muhabiri olarak iki yıl gazetecilik yaptı.. . 57. Hükümet döneminde Başbakan Bülent Ecevit tarafından Başbakan Müşaviri olarak atandı ve 2002 Genel Seçimlerine kadar bu görevi sürdürdü.. . Ardından özel sektöre geçti ve on yıla yakın çalıştığı Petrol Ofisi A.Ş.’de en son Dış İlişkilerden Sorumlu Genel Müdür Yardımcılığı görevini yürüttü.
