Detailed description is Civil War Historical Reenactment: June 13-15, 2014 at the Waukon City Park! The “Thunder in the Park” FREE family event will kick off on Friday night, June 13, and go through Sunday afternoon. Vendors will be in attendance at the Waukon City Park for you to purchase food, snacks and drinks as well as different merchandise related to the Civil War era. Volunteers will be wearing nametags and fluorescent colored vests if you need information, directions or assistance at this FREE family friendly event! Call to sign up to be a volunteer today! . . Check out some of the many entertaining and interesting events that will be happening at this event!. . -An Evening with President Grant (Friday evening at Main Feature Theatre & Pizza Pub). -Civil War Rededication (Friday evening at the Allamakee County Courthouse). -President Lincoln Portrayed by Lance Mack. -Demonstrations of Military Camp Life. -Participatory Period Infantry Drills. -Period Fashion Show. -Faire Wynds Traveling Medicine Show. -Two Battle Reenactments (Saturday and Sunday). -Saturday Night Dance: Reels and Waltzes with a Grand March. -Cannon Firings, including a Night Firing on Saturday Night. -Songs and Stories of the Civil War by Bob Welch. -Hands-on Demonstrations. -Period Children’s Games . -Reenactment Skits . -Sunday Community Breakfast, 7:00am-9:00am (open to the public). .
