Number of students: 2,813 (as of Sep. 1, 2014).. Alhambra High School is part of the Phoenix Union High School District. The campus is located northwest of downtown Phoenix, AZ, USA. Alhambra has a diverse student population comprised of: Hispanic: 77.8%, African American: 8.7%, Asian: 5.7%, Anglo: 5.5%, Native American: 1.2%, & other 1.1%. The school predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Alhambra, Isaac and Phoenix Elementary, however students from across the district come to Alhambra for its Phoenix Union Magnet Program—Medical and Health Studies.. . The Alhambra campus comprises approximately four square blocks and is located on the South side of Camelback Road, between 37th and 39th Avenues. It shares its floor plan/campus layout with its "sister school", Maryvale High School, located at the corner of 59th Avenue and Osborn. This shared plan and "sister school" status is often considered the impetus for the rivalry between the two school's athletics and sports teams and departments. It is the only school in the Phoenix Union High School District to host the Medical Arts Program.. .
