Detailed description is Ajila Ama is a new and growing organic farm located in Brasstown, NC.
We primarily grow organic berries, including blueberries and raspberries.
Many of our plants have not yet reached maturity, so we only have limited quantities available in season.
We hope to expand our line of produce and plants to include a diverse variety of organic and heirloom fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, edible mushrooms and ornamentals as well as value-added products such as preserves.
Our present projects include preparations for an orchard and greenhouse as well as testing varieties and organic growing methods.
We have a special interest in asian varieties , cherokee heirlooms, hot & spicy vegetables and herbs, local and native varieties, medicinal herbs, and rare and unusual varieties.
Occasionally we may offer items from our test gardens for sale at local farmers markets.
We also intend to offer and cooperate in educational programs on organic gardening and sustainable living through hosting workshops and demonstrations as a teaching farm as well as working with others in our community who share our mission.
