Detailed description is 相俣ダムは利根川水系赤谷川を堰き止める重力式コンクリートダムです。 相俣ダムは群馬県利根郡みなかみ町相俣の猿ヶ京温泉の入り口部分を流れる利根川水系赤谷川を堰き止めた重力式コンクリートダムです。赤谷川の峡谷に作られた長さ８０ｍ、高さ６７ｍの縦長のダムで２つのクレストローラーゲートを持っています。横にある地盤が自然のダムになっいて水漏れしないようにコンクリートで固められています。両方合わせて赤谷湖を堰き止めているダムです。. このダムは点検時を除いて多くの観光客に解放されていてダムをダムサイト天端へ入って見物することが出来ます。国道１７号線三国峠越えへ入る猿ヶ京温泉の手前にあるので、休憩で立ち寄るドライバーや観光客の休憩・観光スポットになっています。時より豪快に２つのクレストローラーゲートから放流する姿は圧巻です。その放流時もダムサイト天端へ入って見物することが出来ます。あまりの高さと轟音を立てて流れ落ちる水の迫力に身震いしてしまう程です。. すぐ近くの国土交通省関東地方整備局利根川ダム統括管理事務所相俣ダム管理支所には建物１階に「相俣ダム資料館」があり、毎日８：３０～１７：００で誰でも見学することが出来ます。国土交通省と水資源機構・電源開発そして一部の都道府県が配布している「ダムカード」の相俣ダム版もこちらで配布しています。そして、ダム湖の赤谷湖は釣りとレジャーボートのメッカになっています。みなさんもぜひ行かれてみてはいかがでしょうか。（＾－＾）／
