Detailed description is Ahl El Gouna is a project by People of El Gouna for it’s people aiming to strengthen the bond of our community.. . Ahl El Gouna: A Cross Town Exhibition of Portraits.. February – May 2015. . Ahl El Gouna is a project by people of El-Gouna for it’s people. It aims to strengthen the understanding of our community, as El-Gouna moves from a touristic resort into a full fledged town with it’s own very unique society.. . The project consists of an all-town exhibition of black and white portraits of all it’s residents from the construction workers and housekeepers to the foreign and Egyptian residents and founders. The Portraits will be displayed randomly in squares, on buildings and alleyways, mostly using the distinctive architecture of El-Gouna as its backdrop.. . A group of volunteer amateur and professional photographers will be working in teams in the different areas of El-Gouna to take as many individual shots as possible with other members recording the basic bios of each portrait.. . The project will be launched with a basic 3-day course in Photography, delivered by photographer Aisha Al-Shabrawi in early February to prep the team and organize the different tasks. The intention is for the exhibition to be up and ready by Western Easter in early April.. . Fundraising and Support. . . Fundraising. Funds are expected to be raised from within the community in El Gouna such as villa owners, businesses and hotels as well as possible sponsorship from outside parties that may be interested in the project. . . Support. For the project to achieve its purpose, we would like to have as many people as possible to cooperate and we’re hoping that through social media groups and with the help of Orascom in spreading the word we can encourage this.. . To Orascom: . We would very much appreciate your support on this by spreading the word by informing your staff in all departments to have them select the time and date, according to their own convenience, to take their portraits at their locations. . . To Hotels: . We would kindly request from hotels to; (a) Provide in-kind support by offering free accommodations for volunteer photogrophars who will be participating in the project; (b) organize date and time at your convenience for the photographers to take staff portraits. . .
