The course plays through mature stands of oak, birch, maple and pine trees and was expanded to 18 holes for the 1998 season.. . Although the course features a fairly short 5,155 yard par 68 layout, golfers should not take Acton too lightly. Exceptionally tight, tree lined fairways and water in play on just about every hole, means a golfer always has his or her hands full staying out of trouble.. . More difficulty is found on Acton’s large greens which are all well protected by water and/or sand. Uneven surfaces and hard to read slopes make putting a challenge.<0>At less than 450 yards the 13th hole is a deceptively difficult par five that provides a terrific risk/rewards challenge.
