His early schooling was done in the village, he then moved to Bangalore to complete his higher education in Al-Ameen College. After completing his Bachelor of Arts, he continued his education at the prestigious Central College, Bangalore where he earned a Masters in Economics.. . In 1975, Azeem joined the Karnataka Police Service as a Sub-Inspector. In 1991, Azeem was promoted to Inspector of Police. In 2002, Azeem was again promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police (City Crime Branch), one of the most prestigious and challenging posts one can serve.. . Having quite a good reputation as a dedicated, honorable, and sincere member of the Karnataka Police Service, Azeem decided to take voluntary retirement from KPS and start a career in politics.. . Azeem joined the Janata Dal (Secular) party in 2004, and was elected as a Member of Legislative Council in 2006.
