In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, WPSU will participate in the national dialogue sparked by Ken Burns' ten-part documentary series, The Vietnam War, which will air on PBS on September 17, 2017.
While Burns explores the broader picture, WPSU's project focuses on how Pennsylvanians experienced the war through the eyes of soldiers, demonstrators, and family on the homefront..

“A Time to Heal” is a 60-minute documentary which explores the impact of the Vietnam War on the lives of those who fought, protested, and prayed for their loved ones to return home safe.
Producer Lindsey Whissel Fenton traveled across Pennsylvania, talking with men and women about their experiences during this divisive time and their perspectives now, seeking an answer to the question: Is it finally a time to heal? This program airs on September 14, 2017 at 8 p.m.

“A Time to Lay It Down: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War” is a two-part radio documentary which will explore the wide-variety of music during the Vietnam War era.
Listeners will hear the voices of musicians and veterans who wrote and performed songs while serving in the combat zones of Vietnam.
Some veterans such as Roger Steffens, Lou Frank, and Ron Curtis counted on music to keep them sane.
This two hour special will be broadcasted on WPSU-FM on September 16, 2017 from 12-2 p.m..
