"How do we make this land work for us?" HE bought the almost one acre of land that was surrounded by the 15 acres owned by HER parents.
"He lives on a postage stamp" HER dad said.
HIS friends called the fixer-upper home & property, "Hell's Half Acre." A short time after the Tree Farm plan was set in motion, the owner of a snowball stand on Liberty Road told HER dad that he had to get out of the business and get the shed moved.
HER dad said, "I'll buy the shed and move it for you." The purchase price was $1! And so, as the snowball shed traveled down Marriottsville Road, a Snowball's Chance In Hell's Half-Acre was born....we shortened and cleaned up the name a tad.
The original shed has since been painted from it's rainbow motif to a more neutral color, and now stands as the office for Tree sales.
