I’m Maristella Gonzalez; welcome to A Constellation. Born and raised in Panama City, Panama, I moved to the US in 2003; graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2006; and from Pratt Institute with a Masters in Communications Design in 2009. While in New York, I interned at Elle Magazine and got completely hooked on fashion. After moving back to Panama, I became the editor of Blank Magazine, a local monthly publication; started a street style blog called PYT IN PTY –Pretty Young Thing In Panama; and opened a boutique called La Botica, the first in Panama to carry brands such as Finders Keepers, Keepsake, Cameo and Jeffrey Campbell; all while freelancing as a graphic designer. The year 2014 was a life changer; I decided to focus solely on graphic design, so I closed the shop and set up my studio, Stellar Design & Direction; I got married to Jose, who takes most of my portraits; and I started this here lifestyle journal. Whether it’s in the form of a nonchalant outfit, an eclectic house tour, a delicious gluten-free recipe, or a city guide with a local feel; A Constellation is a collection of all the things that make me happy… And happiness is meant to be shared, right?!
