"I've had a lifelong obsession with monsters," says the 8-Track Gorilla, opening up his scrapbook to reveal an amazingly adept drawing dated 1970, when the Gorilla was just a wee chimp of only five years old.
It's a virtual self-portrait of what he has become today--a fearsome rock n' roll animal resplendent in fangs and fur.

Since his solo debut performance at an art opening in 1998, the 8-Track Gorilla has charmed the pants off of his hometown, attracting substantial audiences in nearly every major music venue in Athens.

"People love to disco everywhere, and people love the retro shit," explains the Gorilla.

Or maybe it's fact that he's a natural--a hard-working, old-school, give-'em-all-you-got entertainer in the vein of James Brown or Johnny Thunders.

"It's like the past is connected to the future somehow," the Gorilla says, recalling Arthur C.
Clarke.
"But there's that gap in the middle where we somehow try to link the past with the future and the present."
