In 1997 the leaders of Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Knoxville did three amazing things.... . They prayed... They listened to God... Then they obeyed.... . After a season of prayer, they determined the best way to reach more people with the Good News of Jesus Christ was to start another church on the growing western edge of Knoxville, about 20 minutes from their door. So they raised some money, they recruited a guy named Brad Brinson who was pastoring a church in California and they gave him the freedom to "steal" people away from their church.. . About a year after Brad came to town, with seventy people from Fellowship Church and another seventy people gathered from the community who had no church home Two Rivers Church was born. The church met at Farragut High School for eight years, with offices in a former bank branch building, also in Farragut.. . Over the years Two Rivers has grown in size and in depth. With many partnerships in parachurch ministries locally, and a sister church in Guatemala City, Two Rivers has seen God expand the church's influence to many parts of the community, and the world.. . In December 2006 Two Rivers moved a raidly growing congregation to the current location in a new building located on the Knox/Loudon County line at Dixie Lee Junction.
