Credit Courtesy An Unalaska City Council member resigned Tuesday after 14 years in the job. David Gregory says he s leaving town to be closer to his elderly mother in Anchorage.  It is bittersweet that I have to leave Unalaska, but like I said, family does come first, Gregory said. I certainly will not be a stranger to Unalaska.    His departure will open a vacancy for Council Seat D after May 25, which will be his last meeting.  Gregory has worked as the Land Manager at Ounalashka Corporation for nearly two decades.  While his fellow members supported his resignation, councilman Thom Bell said everyone at the meeting felt the weight of losing him from the council.
