Chief Ministers of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
Matters pertaining to overall situation and development affairs of respective areas came under discussion in the meeting.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that a welfare state on the pattern of the state of Madina would be established in phases and there was a need to ensure social justice in accordance with the principles of Islam.
The premier sought the recommendations from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) regarding establishment of an Islamic welfare state in Pakistan and assured it that the recommendations would be implemented.
He was discussing the matter with a delegation led by CII Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz. The delegation included Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, special representative of the prime minister on religious harmony, and a member of the CII. ....

'Ulema Board to launch awareness campaign on blasphemy laws'

LAHORE: The Muttahida Ulema Board, with the assistance of leadership of all religions, will launch an awareness campaign on blasphemy laws.
Misuse of blasphemy laws is being contained as during the last seven months not a single FIR has been registered illegally and instances of forced conversions and forced marriages are declining, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, Muttahida Ulema Board and Special Aide to Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East.
Addressing a press conference, along with leadership of different religious schools of thought, here on Sunday, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said the Muttahida Ulema Board is playing a very positive role to eradicate the menace of extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence. The Muttahida Ulema Board made judgment in 107 cases, he said, adding if anyone in the country has any complaint related to the misuse of blasphemy law, he can contact the Muttahida ....

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has reached Saudi Arabia on an official visit, the ISPR said Tuesday.
The army chief will meet high-level Saudi civil and military leaders during the visit, according to the ISPR.
Defence cooperation between the two countries, regional situation and important international affairs will be discussed in the meetings.
