Ragin’ Cajuns Track and Field alum and New Iberia native Morgann Leleux cleared 14 feet, 11 inches on her final attempt on Monday. Leleux advances to the finals in the women’s pole vault at the 2021 Summer Olympic Games.
The 2016 All-American, Leleux was one of 15 athletes who was confronted by a rain delay to advance to Thursday’s final which is set to take place at 5:20 a.m. CDT.
Leleux passed on her opening attempt at 13-11 ¼ before clearing 14-5 ¼ on her first attempt. She missed on her first two attempts at 14-11 before clearing the bar on her final attempt and joining American teammate Katie Nageotte in the finals.

No Jobs Lost; Lafayette Government Departments Being Reorganized
Three departments are changing including Development and Planning, Parks and Recreation and Community Development.

These changes will strengthen synergies and create more internal efficiency, while providing better products and services for our citizens.
This action is not new for Guillory s administration. They already reorganized the Public Works Department into three separate initiatives in the beginning of his administration. The three became Public Works Department, the Drainage Department and the Traffic, Roads and Bridges Department.

In these latest changes, the Parks and Recreation Department will become the Parks, Art, Recreation and Culture Department using the acronym PARC, combining arts, culture, recreation and parks under one department. The following entities will fall under the newly named department:

Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory has called for an administrative reorganization of three Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) Departments with the goal of serving Lafayetteâs citizens effectively.
The administration says they have identified the best alignment for the Community Development, Parks and Recreation, and Development and Planning Departments.
Guillory said, These changes will strengthen synergies and create more internal efficiency, while providing better products and services for Lafayette Parish citizens.
Parks and Recreation is now the Parks, Art, Recreation, and Culture (PARC) Department.
They say their mission is to align arts and culture with parks and recreation. The Heymann Performing Arts Center, Lafayette Science Museum, Acadiana Park Nature Station, and Senior Centers now fall under the PARC department, they say.
