Local business donates to Holly police

Gary Branch, CEO of Dancor Services, Inc. with an office in Holly, approached Holly Village Councilmember Rick Powers on a way he and his business could assist Holly Police Department with a donation. After meeting with Branch, Powers’ desire was to help the police department in a positive and meaningful way. He knew several new officers and some veteran officers were in need of new issue or replacement protective vests. Holly Police Chief Jerry Narsh said a huge thank you goes to Branch and the crew at Dancor Services for a $2,500 donation that will provide funds for five new vests for Holly police officers.

Owosso man charged with disturbing school in Holly

 Matthew Wrosch, 47, of Owosso, was arraigned on three charges Wednesday, April 28 by Judge Kelly Kostin in Oakland County 52-2 District Court, via Zoom.  Wrosch was charged with one count of disturbing a school, one count of creating a disturbance at a school and failing to leave upon request, and one count of resisting/obstructing a police officer.  He pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial through his attorney, Bradley Friedman. The judge scheduled a pretrial for May 26 at 2:10 p.m. and trial tentatively for June 7 at 8:30 a.m.  The judge ordered a $2,000 personal bond, which includes having no contact with Holly schools, cannot leave Michigan without the court’s permission, no alcohol, no illegal drugs and no firearms or other dangerous weapons.

Food pantry now open at police station

 The Holly Police Department wants to let residents know that its public food pantry is open.  The police department has formed a partnership with the First Baptist Church of Holly, which has been receiving regular Forgotten Harvest food deliveries for more than a year.  Police staff distribute food to multiple families and locations where they know not everyone can get to a drop-off location. As a result of this, they often have extra high-quality food left over.  Holly police officer Bob Goedertier suggested the police department find a refrigerator and shelving to create an open pantry at the police station.
