Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante will officially retire on July 1 after 28 years of policing.
Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante will officially retire on July 1 after serving as police chief since 2014.
“I have been a police officer for 28 years, the Police Chief for the past seven years, and two years as OEM Coordinator before that,” said Ferrante. “I have proudly served this city and loved every second of it. In fact, my father Retired Captain Fred Ferrante and I served for a combined 60 plus years at the HPD.”

A 65-year-old food deliveryman was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle Friday afternoon in Hoboken, authorities said.
The New York man was on an electric bike when he was struck by the vehicle possibly a blue Acura with partial registration number 20070 at the intersection of Observer Highway and Jackson Street around 3:15 p.m., Hoboken Police Dt. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
The striking vehicle fled the scene of the accident and it was reported leaving southbound out of Hoboken, Cabrera said.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by McCabe Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and his family was notified, he said.

HOBOKEN, NJ Services will be held this Friday and Saturday in Hoboken for former Mayor Anthony Russo, 74, who oversaw Hoboken during a period of rapid growth from 1993 through 2001.
Russo passed away peacefully at home on Monday, according to his obituary.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Failla Memorial Home, 533 Willow Ave., Hoboken. Parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street. Due to CDC Guidelines, visitors are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
