Police arrested four in connection with the deaths of 13 people who died from allegedly consuming spurious alcohol in Bogura district in the last three days.
At least 13 people died after consuming alcohol at different places of the district since last Saturday, according to locals and family members of the victims.
Police, however, acknowledged the deaths of eight people so far, reports our Bogura correspondent. We found that eight people in the town died since last Saturday after consuming poisonous liquor collected from homeopath shops, said Humayan Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Sadar Police Station.

Police in Bogura yesterday arrested four homeopathy shop owners accused of selling toxic liquor that may have caused at least 13 deaths in the town since Saturday.
After talking to locals, family members of the deceased, and people who fell ill from ingesting the toxic liquor, our Bogura correspondent reported that at least 13 people died reportedly after having poisonous liquor (mainly rectified spirit mixed with methanol) in Bogura in that time.
A press release issued by the Bogura Sadar Police Station, however, said they have found that a total of eight people died in the town since last Saturday after consuming toxic liquor.

Jahangir used to make fake vodka and whisky in a factory on the second floor of a small building in the capital s Bhatara.
At least six people have died in the capital after drinking the whisky and vodka made by Jahangir, according to police s detective branch (DB).
A team of DB (Gulshan Division) police said they learned this information when they conducted a drive in Jahangir s fake foreign liquor factory late Monday night.
