Espanola Hydro and Hydro One both have planned power outages for the end of the month to upgrade the lines and equipment.
Both utilities have planned the outage for Sunday, May 30th from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The areas affected include Espanola, Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Nairn & Hyman Township, and the Township of Baldwin as well as unorganized areas accessing the utility services.

Two long-serving Nairn and Hyman Township councillors were recently sanctioned by council following code of conduct violations, investigations and subsequent recommendations by the township’s integrity commissioner.
Councillors Brigita Gingras and Rod MacDonald will both lose pay for six months and 90 days, respectively. Gingras will also do conflict resolution training and apologize to the CAO and mayor in writing; while MacDonald will be removed from committees and will be under the supervision of an established committee to oversee any on-going issues.
