Haverhill Firefighting Museum Reopens to the Public with Saturday Tours and Programs

Haverhill Firefighting Museum has reopened to the public with tours and its Hero Headquarters for children available by appointment beginning this Saturday. The museum at 75 Kenoza Ave., which displays “the evolution of New England firefighting history,” is open Saturdays through October, from noon-4 p.m. Admission is $20 per family and free for service men and women. Visits are currently limited to 45 minutes with three 15- minute programs: “9/11 What to Know-When To Call!,” “Plan Your Home Fire Escape Two Ways Out!” and “First Responders How They Work Together.”

Among them, the Haverhill Firefighting Museum’s Kentucky Derby Gala for 2021 is still a little different than previous years where people dressed up while enjoying a catered event and live entertainment. Cynthia Graham, a recent guest on WHAV’s morning program, said this year’s event is centered around a cash raffle. “With three great prizes, a win, place and show prizes. First place $3,000, second place $1,500 and third place $1,000,” she notes.

Haverhill Firefighting Museum Invites Supporters to Become Members

Haverhill Firefighting Museum. As a public service, 97.9 WHAV presents Community Spotlight at no charge for the benefit of Greater Haverhill nonprofit organizations. The Haverhill Firefighting Museum is seeking members to help defray the costs of housing its extensive collection of antique firefighting memorabilia, equipment and apparatus and programs such as its “Hero Headquarters” for children and 9/11 Memorial Sculpture. Memberships include Family, $25, and individual, $15. Both include unlimited visitation and 10% off in the museum shop. There is also a $100 Benefactor level, which includes two tickets to the museum’s Chili Cook-off, and Benefactor Plus for $125, which includes an engraved brick in the 9/11 Memorial Walkway.
