Alec Grabowski joins the hospital from Summerville Medical Center in South Carolina, where he was chief operating officer as well as interim president. As the new Mountainside Medical Center COO, he succeeds Tim O’Brien, who was promoted to CEO in August.
“Alec brings a breadth of experience in health care operations to this role,” O’Brien said in a prepared statement. “His expertise will enhance our ability to increase the range and scope of services available at our community hospital, and we are excited to have him on board.”
Grabowski has more than a decade of health care leadership experience, including work at United Health Services in New York and Evolent Health and WellStar Health System in Georgia.

Grabowski comes to Mountainside Medical Center with over a decade of healthcare leadership experience in a variety of hospital settings including; United Health Services in Binghamton, NY, Evolent Health and WellStar Health System, located in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer at Hospital Corporation of America’s Summerville Medical Center, where he also served as interim hospital president.
