Green investments in Greece will exceed €44 billion by 2030 through the implementation of 21 actions financed by the recovery and resilience fund, Environment and Εnergy Minister Kostas Skrekas said at an online event for Green Hydrogen on Tuesday.
“Greece has adopted and is implementing one of the most ambitious energy and climate plans in Europe,” said Skrekas, adding that “we are removing lignite from our energy mix at a faster rate than any other European country”.
The environment and energy minister highlighted the importance of the governmental initiatives, coordinated by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to create high-growth prospects and investments. He also pointed out that Greece had adopted policies on promoting natural gas, renewable energy sources, energy conservation, and projects to upgrade the energy network.
