Caltrans crews to begin work on Rio Vista bridge RIO VISTA Caltrans crews will be making road and joint repairs on the Rio Vista bridge starting Sunday – one of five bridges that are scheduled for maintenance. The work is set to begin at 9 p.m., the state Department of Transportation announced Friday. Traffic controls will be in place. The Helen Madere Memorial Bridge on Highway 12 will be the first bridge crews will be working on by making road and joint repairs, including cleaning out debris from the bridge joints, the Caltrans statement said.
