(WAFF) - HEMSI is launching an EMS Academy this spring, and it has a few perks too. After a 10 week course, the HEMSI trained students will be able to sit for the National Registry to become a licensed EMT in the State of Alabama. The EMS Academy will help HEMSI ensure quality employees while also allowing students to get paid while training. “We were in need of more employees. A lot of times it is hard to go to school, work a full-time job and still be able to maintain all of that,” says HR Manager, Amanda Snowden. ....

HPD Spokesperson Lt. Jesse Sumlin confirmed officers responded to 4896 University Dr. for a cutting call around 10:20 p.m. on March 5. Upon arrival, officers found Bankston in the parking lot of the restaurant with multiple injuries. ....

(WAFF) - A multi-county pursuit ended in e ended in Morgan County where it began, after going through Cullman County, with two people in custody Friday night. The chase started in Morgan County when a deputy initiated a traffic stop and the driver wouldn’t pull over, according to Mike Swafford with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Cullman Daily News. Authorities identified the two suspects as 45-year-old Burt Williams and 48-ear-old Tracy Winnett. ....
